Aldermaston Parent & Child Groups

The Parent and Child Groups are closely linked to Alder Bridge Steiner Waldorf School and to our Parent & Child Centre at the United Reformed Church in Newbury and the Sunbeams Garden in Newbury. The School takes children from 6 – 13 years of age, and has Kindergartens which take children from 3 – 6 years of age.

Time

The Parent and Child Groups take place on Monday and Wednesday mornings between 10:00 and 12:15. The sessions take place during term time only.

Parents are asked to arrive on time for the session as it is disruptive for both the children and the Group Leader if families arrive late.

Group Leader

The Group Leader is Rachel Tapping. Please contact her via the School Office or email: parent-child@alderbridge.org.uk if you have any questions or concerns.

Age Group

The Group takes children from birth up to Kindergarten age. Should parents wish their child to be considered for entry into Kindergarten at Alder Bridge, they may have a conversation with the Group Leader to discuss the child’s readiness and the entry procedure.

Group Size

The size of the Group is fairly small, to reflect its homely nature. The maximum number of children is around 12, depending upon the mix of ages within the Group.

Location

The sessions take place at Aldermaston Parish Hall (map), in Aldermaston village. There is parking available at the hall and on nearby streets. Aldemaston village is served by Newbury and District Buses service 104, which runs between Calcot (Savacentre) and Newbury via Tadley every two hours.

Cost

The cost per family is £7.00 per session paid in advance for each half term. A concessionary rate is available for families unable to pay the full cost.

Who to Contact

Please contact the School Office at Alder Bridge School (telephone 0118 9714471) or email: parent-child@alderbridge.org.uk if you have any queries.

General Information

Mailing List

If you agree your name and address will be added to the newsletter mailing list. A newsletter is generally produced once a fortnight during term time and distributed by email (paper copies will be available at the Group). It contains news of events, groups, and any items of interest concerning the School, Kindergartens, and Parent & Child groups.

School Shop

There is a well-stocked shop on the School premises, with toys, books, cards, gifts, craft materials, etc. Please telephone the School office for details of the opening times.
