The Parent and Child Groups take place on Monday
afternoons between 1:30 and 3:30. The sessions take place during
term time only.
Parents
are asked to arrive on time for the session as it is disruptive
for both the children and the Group Leader if families arrive late.
The Group Leader is Ann Morgan, who is also the Teacher at our
Sun Kindergarten. Please contact her via the School Office if you
have any questions or concerns.
This Group is for families with children of 2½ years or more. The
aim of this Group is to help the older children make the transition
between Parent & Child Group and Kindergarten, or other provision
of your choice. Younger siblings will be welcome.
Should parents wish their child to be considered for entry into
the Kindergarten, they may have a conversation with the Group Leader
to discuss the child’s readiness and the entry procedure.
The size of
the Group is fairly small, to reflect its homely nature. The maximum
number of children is around 12, depending upon the mix of ages
within the Group.
The sessions take place in the Sun Kindergarten
on the main Alder Bridge School site (map
and access). Please come to the School Office on your first
visit and you will be accompanied.
The cost per family is £7.00 per session paid in
advance for each half term. A concessionary rate is available for
families unable to pay the full cost.
Please contact the School Office at Alder Bridge
School (telephone 0118 9714471) or email: parent-child@alderbridge.org.uk
if you have any queries.
If
you agree your name and address will be added to the newsletter
mailing list. A newsletter is generally produced once a fortnight
during term time and distributed by email (paper copies will be
available at the Group). It contains news of events, groups, and
any items of interest concerning the School, Kindergartens, and
Parent & Child groups.
There
is a well-stocked shop on the School premises, with toys, books,
cards, gifts, craft materials, etc. Please telephone the School
office for details of the opening times.
