Your personal details will only be used by the School
to contact you in connection with your enquiry. We will not share these
with any other third party (unless of course legally compelled to do
so). All the data you enter is transmitted and held securely (more).
The data you enter is encrypted using 128 bit AES
encryption before being transmitted across the Internet, with 1024
bit RSA encryption used for the initial key exchange. The data is
then stored in our database also using 128 bit AES encryption. When
the database is accessed by our staff the data is transmitted to their
PC in encrypted form, and only decrypted at the point of use. The
data therefore only exists in plain text form on the user's PC, and
then only while it is actually being used.
Allthough this uses similar technology to SSL (as
used on most secure web sites) we do not use a security certificate
(which costs money), and this is why you won't see the familiar padlock
symbol. However we believe our system is actually more secure than
many other systems, since the data is both stored and transmitted
in encrypted form. This means that even if the database itself was
acquired by an unauthorised person, without the encryption key it
would be virtually impossible to access the data. (Hide)
